Short Biography

Jemima Jahan Meem is currently a Lecturer at the Department of Environment and Development Studies, United International University (UIU), Dhaka, Bangladesh. Prior to this position, She worked as a full-time lecturer at the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Green University of Bangladesh (GUB), Dhaka, Bangladesh. Before joining the university, she worked as a development professional in various national and international organizations focusing on project management, community development, and sustainable solutions. She worked as a Research Assistant at Oxfam in Bangladesh, collaborating with CPD (Center for Policy Dialogue). Jemima joined as a Research Assistant at a2i (Aspire to Innovate-jointly collaborated with Cabinet Division, ICT Division and UNDP) where she extensively worked on the SDG tracker, Digital Governance, and Data-Driven Policy making. She worked as a Research Fellow at Action Aid Bangladesh (AAB). She has worked as a Project Consultant at UNICEF Bangladesh. She joined as a Lecturer at MA HAAD School & College, Uttara, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She accomplished her Bachelor of Social Science (BSS) and Master of Social Science (MSS) in Sociology from the University of Barishal. She has obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations (PGDIR) from the University of Dhaka, further enhancing her expertise in global affairs and international development. Her research interests includes Environmental Sociology, Gender, Information, Resilience, Sustainable Development and policy.
